Before there was Pinterest...

...there was my aunt Sheri.

My Easter basket from childhood.

Posting about Jack's Easter basket yesterday reminded me of pulling out my Easter decorations. (I've been slacking. I may or may not have just pulled the Valentine's Day sign off of my front door 10 minutes before I had neighbors over for supper last week. But hey, I had people over for supper and my house was clean. Bonus points.) The above picture is my Easter basket that I hunted eggs with throughout my childhood some 20+ years ago. My aunt made it, and it's so special to me. And also, I think it's incredibly adorable.

  1. That is so fun! I have been debating whether or not I even need to do an Easter basket since it's really like an aside to the real reason we celebrate but I feel like I should!

    1. My original plan for Jack's Easter basket was just for hunting Easter eggs. Usually the only "stuff" my parents gave us for Easter was new church clothes (my Easter dress, for example) and maybe a sweet treat from the bakery.

That being said, it's easy to find things to put in a basket for a baby since they are ALWAYS needing a bigger size clothes! I bought him some swim trunks, a little travel kit with his name on it, and a few little other things. My man and I are brainstorming something meaningful we could give him that might create a memory each year. Who knows what we'll do!

    1. Thanks! It is still in mint condition, even for an antique. :)

  3. I had a crafty aunt, but she only made us tacky faux appliqued shirts with puffy paint edges. Love the bowed ears :)

    1. My brother and boy cousins had them too, with a little bow tie instead of bows on the ears.

I'll be the puff paint crafty aunt, that is, if I ever have a niece or nephew.

Do you hear that, brother, if you are surfing my comments?!?! ;)
